Much Hadham Forge Museum

Our grade 2 listed building is set in delightful cottage gardens and houses superb museum displays. Discover internationally important Tudor paintings, hands-on social history and archaeology, and fascinating stories of the families that lived here. Browse the shelves of our panelled archive room, with its changing displays. The Jean Page Room hosts art exhibitions, craft activities, and a small shop and tea room. We’re family-friendly, and children just love our House Detective Bags! We still have the original working forge, and displays explore the craft, mythology and daily life of the village blacksmith. Schools, pre-schools, clubs and societies are all welcome. We offer guided trails, taught workshops, loan boxes and craft activities.

Much Hadham village teems with history. The high street and quiet lanes nearby have known artists, bishops and great merchants as well as bakers, collar makers and farmers. All would recognise Much Hadham today. We recommend you explore!
