Three Rivers Museum


A small, independent, volunteer-run museum of local history covering the Three Rivers area of South-West Herts. The collection includes artefacts from demolished historic buildings and from past local traders, a chronology of Rickmansworth, photographs going back to the 19th century, paintings, geological and archaeological finds, wartime memorabilia, and information about William Penn who lived for five years in Basing House, the Museum's home, before he founded Pennsylvania.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday 2pm- 4pm
  • Saturdays 10am- 4pm
  • Closed on Sundays & Bank Holidays
  • Visits outside these hours can be made by prior arrangement.


  • Up to two hours free parking in carparks nearby
  • Small shop including local history books
