Ware Museum

An independent museum, run by volunteers. There is a permanent display featuring the “Story of Ware”, including fossils, and changing exhibitions on topics of local interest. Original WW2 bunker with displays on both World Wars. Interactive touch screen kiosk with features on the River, Malting, and the return of the Great Bed to Ware in 2012, when it was housed in the Star Gallery for a year on loan from the V&A. The museum offers lots of ideas for younger visitors: a children’s corner for little ones, an archaeological “dig”, interactive displays, and a well you can walk on! Craft activities are available during school holidays.
