Bishop's Stortford Museum


Occupying two floors of the Rhodes Arts Centre, we present an overview of the history and development of Bishop’s Stortford and the neighbouring parishes of Thorley, High Wych, Sawbridgeworth, Gilston and Eastwick from pre-history through to the present day. As well as presenting locally derived artefacts, our displays include information on the Gilbey family and the Miss Pye collection. We also feature displays on Cecil Rhodes from his early life in Bishop’s Stortford through to his later activities in Africa.
