Elstree & Borehamwood Museum


Elstree and Borehamwood Museum is a local history museum which sits within a community facility at 96 Shenley Road in the heart of Borehamwood. The museum is located on the second floor next to the Local Studies section of the library and has exciting, modern displays charting the development of the area since the 1800’s. Many photos from the past and also reference to the local film industry which is more than 100 years old. Schools and groups are welcome to visit outside opening hours (by appointment) and the museum offers an outreach service to local primary schools, focusing on a variety of curriculum subjects. The museum is generously supported by Hertsmere Borough Council and Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council.

Opening hours:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 12pm- 6pm 
  • Saturdays 10am- 3pm
